Robert “Bob” Coleman, 87, of Binghamton, NY, and formerly of Irish Hill, passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Sayre to the late Francis B. and Alice J. (Golden) Coleman. His wife of 67 years, Anna Mae (Farrell) Coleman, survives.
Also surviving are his three daughters and son-in-law, Mary Alice Babcock of Charlotte, NC, Rita and William Graham of Farmington and Maggie Kosik of Conklin, NY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Mary Ann Coleman of Binghamton, NY, Michael and Lyn Coleman of Irish Hill; eight grandchildren, Laura Case, Eric, Meaghan, Colleen Coleman, Ryan and Patrick Coleman, Dillon Graham and Joey Kosik; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Case, Kasey Coleman and Kinsley Keil; nieces, nephews and a special niece, Janice Russell of Little Meadows. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Peter, Frank, and Charles Coleman, and two sisters, Josephine and Pauline Coleman.
Mr. Coleman was a farmer for many years, a school director and fieldsman for Eastern Milk Producers. He taught agriculture courses to veterans and was an insurance agent for R.W. Michaels. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Holy Name Society. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 19 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Friendsville, with Rev. Casimir Stanis officiating. Interment was in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Irish Hill. Visitations were Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose.
