Auditions

The Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock will be holding auditions for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” by appointment on Saturday, Jan. 28 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 29 from noon to 5 p.m. Actors needed are four women, ages 18-50 and 12 men, ages 18 to 70. Knights of Columbus Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, Jan. 15 from 8 to 11 a.m. at St. Basil’s Hall, Dushore. Bus Trips

Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life sponsoring a bus trip to the Pro-Life Rally in Washington, DC on Monday, Jan. 23. Leaving early from Athens, Wysox and Wyalusing. Leaving Wyalusing at 5:45 a.m. and return by midnight. Classes

Wyalusing Adult School classes begin Feb. 1. Schedules available at area libraries, Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce, restaurants and other businesses. The schedule can be accessed online at wyalusingrams.com. Call Mary Beth Voda, 570-746-1522 or Kelly Bradley at 746-3815. Registration forms can be dropped off at the Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce or the Wyalusing Public Library. The bread baking class, taught by Valeria Hill is limited to six people and will be held at the home of Mary Beth Voda on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $30 and will include demonstrations, bread baking, all ingredients, recipes and sourdough starter. Participants do not need to bring anything and all will go home with bread. Call Mary Beth for directions. The poker for women and men classes will be held four Tuesdays, Feb. 14 through March 6 at the Wyalusing Hotel from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pancake Supper at the South Auburn Grange on Jan. 14, starting at 4 p.m. Adults, $8; 12 and under, $4; preschool, free.

Wysox Fire Company Spaghetti Supper, Thursday, Jan. 12, 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire hall on Lake Road, Wysox. Spaghetti supper complete with salad, drink and desserts. Takeouts available for $7 each. $7, adults; $6 for seniors (62 and older); $3.50 for 4 to 8; less than four, free.

The Winding River Players will present the comedy, “Mrs. Mannerly” at the Black Box Theatre, 415 Main St., Towanda on Friday, Jan. 13, Saturday, Jan. 14 and Monday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m.

Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life will have a Pro-Life Rally and Walk on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. on the steps of the Bradford County Courthouse in Towanda. The march will conclude with a non-denominational prayer service at SS Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Towanda. Light refreshments will be served. The Wyalusing Musical Society will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. The WVHS vocal jazz ensemble, Early Morning Jazz, will present the program. Everyone from the community is invited to come hear them perform.

Wyalusing Senior Citizens will meet on Jan. 17 at 11:30 at the Wyalusing Fire Hall. Please come, bring a dish to pass, your table service and a friend. Please remember if school is called off due to weather, there will be no meeting. A two-hour delay and school is in session, there will be a meeting.

The Bradford County Builders’ Association will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Northern Tier Career Center in North Towanda. Rick Czajkowski will give a brief overview of the new 2012 building codes, preceded by member elections. The members of the Oldest House, Laceyville, will have a work bee from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19 at the house. There will be a members’ discussion at 5:30 p.m. that evening. All members in good standing are invited to both. If you have any holiday items on loan for the Christmas Tea, you may pick them up during these hours as well.
