Benefits

A benefit will be held for Justin Owen, who is recovering from an accident when a faulty firework blew up in his face causing severe damage to his left eye in Jan. 2012. He will be making many trips to a Rochester hospital throughout his recovery process. A spaghetti dinner will be held on Feb. 26 at the Laceyville Fire Hall from noon to 8 p.m. There will also be a bake sale, basket raffle and Chinese Auction. R3- 6p/S4-5p

Come out for a cup of soup and help support the Relay for Life team (Banking Happy) at First Liberty Bank and Trust at the Wyalusing office on Feb. 24, Laceyville office on Feb. 25.

Church

Fourth Annual “Afternoon of Inspiration,” will be held on March 4 at 3 p.m. at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church. This variety concert and silent auction is held each year to raise funds for the Volunteers In Mission (V.I.M.) team of Spring Hill United Methodist Church, part of the Wyalusing Charge. Susquehanna Singers Rehearsals. Due to scheduling conflicts and availability, the Susquehanna Singers will not have a spring concert this year. However, with Jody Stroud at the keyboard and under the direction of Joel Spinney, the singers will kick off another busy fall season beginning in August of 2012. Jody and Joel are looking forward to lots of returning voices and welcome new ones, so please mark your calendars. Anyone having questions, please call Jody at 570- 247-2456.

Classes

Coming Soon. The Craft Corner at Stevensville Community Hall, Thursday, Feb. 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether it is needlework, sketching, quilting, scrapbooking or knitting or any craft or hobby you would like to work on, come to the Craft Corner and spend a fun day with other crafters. Craft Club will meet once a month at the hall. Future dates will be posted on the club website and local papers. Wish to join in for lunch, bring a dish to pass for potluck or your own bag lunch. Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Dinner on Friday, Feb. 24, March 9 and March 23. from 4 to 7 p.m., St. Basil’s Hall, Dushore. Dinners include baked fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw, applesauce, dinner roll, homemade dessert, coffee, tea, milk and water. Adults, $8; children, $3.50; under 6, free. The Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program is sponsoring an Anti-Bullying program, “I Am Unafraid” to all students at Wyalusing Valley Elementary School on March 6. Kindergarten to second grade will be from 9 to 9:45 and third to sixth will be from 10 to 10:45.

The Wyalusing Musical Society is hosting a tea for piano students of Diana Black and Marilyn Dibble on Tuesday, March 6 at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. Members, please note time change.
