Ruth Ervine Ruth Ervine Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Ruth Jayne Ervine, 71, of Salina, UT passed away March 1, 2012 in Gunnison, UT, surrounded by her loving family, after a brave and valiant battle with leukemia.

She was born Feb. 27, 1941 in Sayre, PA, a daughter of Fred Alexander and Susie Eliza Waterman Jayne. She graduated from Wyalusing High School in Wyalusing, Class of 1959. She married Donald Sidney Ervine on Dec. 12, 1959 in Camptown. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Latter Day Saints Temple on Feb. 9, 1974.

Ruth was an active member of the Latter Day Saints Church, serving as a Relief Society teacher, counselor in the Relief Society, Ward Librarian for many years and was a faithful visiting teacher. She served as a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and was an active member of the PTA. She enjoyed cooking, canning, flower gardening, sewing, traveling and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her loving husband; children, Deborah and Kenny Poulson, Donald and Belinda Ervine, all of Salina, UT, Mary and Steven Hoggard of Kaysville, UT, Nancy and Blaine Porter of Escalante, UT; 19 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; a brother and sisterin law, Robert and Joan Jayne of Sun City, FL; sister, Nancy Bennett of Spring Hill; sistersin law, Athalie Jayne of Kingman, AZ and Betty Lewis Jayne of Winchester, TN. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Clarence Jayne, Bowen Jayne, Galen Jayne and Betty Chaffee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10 at noon in the Salina 2nd and 3rd Latter Day Saints Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina, with Bishop Cliff Peterson of the Salina 1st Ward conducting. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. On line guest book at: www.springerturner.com.
