Man’s Remains Found Along River at Homets Ferry
State Police at Towanda report that the unidentified remains of a man were discovered along the banks of the Susquehanna in the Homets Ferry area of Wyalusing Township on Thursday, March 15.
According to police the man was clad in a tee shirt, grey shorts with a matching stripe down each leg and multi-colored plaid boxer briefs.
Police said an autopsy conducted on March 16 indicated the person was most probably a Caucasian male, approximately six-feet tall and weighed no less than 180-pounds. He was wearing a bracelet on his left wrist with the wording: “Be Awesome Louder.” The bracelet is approximately one-inch wide and blaze orange and white in color.
A concert promoter in the Binghamton, NY area told police that he had received some of these bracelets to distribute as merchandising items, which he distributed at a heavy metal concert at the American Legion on Clinton Street, Binghamton on September 16, 2011. One of the bands performing at that concert was from Scranton and is known as Terror on the Screen, police said.
The Bradford County Coroner’s Office and State Police at Towanda are conducting an investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-265-2186.
