Horace E. Baldwin, 84, of Rush, PA, passed away, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his home. Born Sept. 12, 1927 in Rushville, PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Frances (Goodwin) Baldwin. His wife, Alberta M. (Allis) Baldwin, predeceased him in 1993.
He was employed by PennDOT as a heavy equipment operator retiring after 30 years of service.
After his retirement, he worked for Rush Township.
Horace served in the Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Rush-Middletown Sportsman’s Club, Rush Volunteer Fire Company and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Horace loved being outdoors enjoying the animals and nature, especially fishing, hunting, cutting wood, feeding the birds and feeding the fish in the pond.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and John Gall of Mehoopany, Dianna and James Albright of Lancaster, Debra Ann Baldwin and Joseph Burke of Brackney; grandchildren and their spouses,

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, James and Paul Baldwin and longtime companion, Joyce M. Wood, who passed away Dec. 11, 2011.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
