Ethel J. Carr Miller, 92, formerly of Marshview, Asylum Twp., PA, beloved wife of the late Thomas S. Miller passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital in North Towanda.
Born in Asylum Twp. on April 10, 1919, she was the daughter of William and Lola Acla Carr. She attended the Towanda schools and later married Thomas S. Miller on March 6, 1935. The couple made their home at Marshview where they raised their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 15, 1993.
Ethel enjoyed working in her garden, canning, crocheting and needlepoint.
Surviving are her children, Dale (Sandra) Miller of Towanda, Keith (Maggie) Miller of Mountain Lake, Jack (Annie) Miller of Stoney Fork, Neil Miller of Philadelphia, Donna (Raymond) Fries of Sebastian, FL; son-in-law, Arthur Poole; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Poole; sons, Lee and Dana Miller; sisters, Mary Conrad, Gladys Kingsley and Doris Kennedy and brother, Leon Carr.
The Miller family expresses their deepest appreciation to Dr. Karen Saylor and the staff of the Personal Care Home of Memorial Hospital for the caring and compassionate care provided for Ethel.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12 at 12 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.
