Cool heads prevailed as the Camptown ladies prepared for their chicken and biscuit dinner, which was to start Saturday at 4:30, around 3 p.m. the power failed. There were potatoes to mash, gravy to make, peas to be cooked, what were they to do? Marilyn Young transported Francine Batch and food to her house where Francine could use her gas stove. The potatoes were mashed by hand.
