Mr. Kenneth B. Brown, 81, of 435 Scottsville Rd., Mehoopany, PA passed away at his home in Windham Twp., Wyoming Co., on Saturday evening, May 19, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Scottsville on the family farm on July 18, 1930, son of the late John T. and Mary E. Ney Brown. He was the husband of the late Anna M. Brown, who passed away on Aug. 3, 2011. They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this September.
All of his life he lived on the family farm in Scottsville, where he grew up, and where he would later raise his family. Many of his children and grandchildren are still living there. For many years, Ken was a truck driver for Vandervort Mills in Laceyville and Kintner Mills in Meshoppen.
For over 20 years, he was a Windham Twp. Supervisor and many of those years was the Roadmaster. He was also a member of the North Flat Cemetery board of directors and was the caretaker for over 25 years. He was honored by Wyoming County for continuously voting for 50 years.
Survivors include his children,
Gary W. Brown, Karen and her husband, Michael Ciprich and Terry and his wife, Phyllis Brown, all of Scottsville, and Lynne Brown of Dushore; 14 grandchildren, and 24 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mildred Singer of Laceyville and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Tracy Brown, who passed away on April 2, 1988, and Todd Ciprich on Jan. 26, 2005, and two brothers, George Brown and Ralph Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25 at 11 a.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Rev. Joseph Billingsley of the Mehoopany Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.
