Jennifer “Jennie” Jane Wright, 68, of 35 Second St., Tunkhannock, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012 at Tyler Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born on May 27, 1944 in Towanda, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Esther Anderson Wright.
She graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School in 1962 and immediately entered the U.S. Army. She was stationed in San Francisco and in Germany. After leaving the service she worked in central Florida for Ben Hill Griffith Co. and in San Francisco for California Pellet Mill Co. before returning to Pennsylvania to work for Procter and Gamble from 1980 until she retired in 2004.
Jennie enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, and was always very generous toward her friends and family members. She was especially happy to recently welcome two greatgranddaughters into the world.
Survivors include her son, John C. Wright of Tunkhannock; granddaughters Jaelin Wright of Fernandina
Beach, FL and Tyan
Repsher of Kingsland, GA; greatgranddaughters,
Lilly Bazzell and
Natalia Southers; sisters, Doreen Potter of Wyalusing and Marilyn Babcock and her husband, Charles of Alabama; a niece, Diane Seymour and her husband, Gary of Towanda. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Lanny Potter.
Family and friends may call at Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main St., Laceyville on Friday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. with the Wyalusing American Legion Post 534 conducting the service.
