Mack and Linda Cranmer
Born Aug. 16, 1942 in Powell, he was the son of the late Edward and Reba Lovelace Cranmer.
Born Oct. 11, 1943 in Towanda, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Yates and Betty Cole.
The Cranmers were married on Sept. 28, 1962 and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this September.
Mack was employed as a farmer, a laborer at Kroehler Manufacturing, and as a security guard at several local area businesses.
Linda began her career at the Bradford County Manor as a nurses’ aid and at the time of her retirement as a purchasing agent in the Ac-counts Payable Department.
Mack enjoyed fishing and Linda was an avid bowler, being inducted into the Towanda/ Ulster Bowling League Hall of Fame. The couple enjoyed bingo, family, friends and always enjoyed spontaneous trips to Tioga Downs Casino.
They were both past members of the Rome Vigilante Engine Co., and Linda was a past secretary of the Towanda/ Ulster Bowling League.
The couple is survived by their sons, Mack Cranmer, Jr. of Wysox, Timothy and Michele Cranmer of Wyalusing and Shawn and Lore Cranmer of Athens and four grandchildren.
Mack is also survived by his brother in-law, James Ramsey of Florida and sister-in-law, Mary Cranmer of Towanda.
Linda is also survived by sisters, Arlene Lantz and her husband, Bill of Towanda, and Barbara Gerould and her husband, Bill of Rome, and a brother, Harry Cole and his wife, Mary of Rome.
The couple was preceded in death by a son, Edward S. Cranmer on Oct. 1, 2006.
In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by sisters, June Lingle, Billie J. Ramsey, Rosemary Wheeler and brother, Rex Cranmer.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Cole, Sr.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be private.
