Bake Sales

A pies plus bake sale will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 8:30 a.m. until all treats are gone at Connie’s Market in Wyalusing. The proceeds of the pie and bake sale will go to the Wyalusing High School girls’ soccer team. Pies and a wide variety of baked goods will be available for your 4th of July parties. If you would like to help out the team by baking something, deliver it to the girls on June 30 or call Carol Goodman at 570-746-9221 and someone will pick up your goods. R25- 2c/S26c


New Albany VFW Post #384 will hold its Annual Turtle Race and Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, July 8. Chicken barbecue at noon, turtle registration starts at 11 a.m., race at 1 p.m.


Pancake Breakfast Benefit on Sunday, June 24, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Warren Center resident, Howard Coleman at VFW Post 6824 on Haigh’s Pond Road in Potterville. Cost-donation at door. Howard has spent a month at Geisinger in Scranton suffering from a rare form of pneumonia. Benefit is to help with medical costs. Chinese auction, bake sale and raffles. Towanda High School Class of 1970 plans 60th birthday celebration. The graduates of the Class of 1970 continue to enjoy the good company of each other and have decided to gather together on July 28 to celebrate their monumental 60th birthday. Plans have been made and the cake ordered. The day will be enjoyed at the Bridge Street Hill Gun Club beginning at 11 a.m. No cost, but reservations are needed by June 30.

The Friday Night Finale for the 2012 Summer Music Camp at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Montrose, will be held at the Montrose High School Auditorium on Friday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. The campers have enjoyed singing, doing street percussion and playing in a hand bell choir.

A One Woman Show by Carol Vanderpool of Waverly, NY will be held on Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30 at the Manley Bohlayer House in East Canton. The show will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 29 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 30.

The Towanda Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day. The pantry will reopen Friday, July 6 at 10 a.m. Questions, call 570-265-4422 during normal operating hours, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. until noon. T.A.C.O. serves the Northeast Bradford, Towanda and Wyalusing school districts.

The Area Agency on Aging will be bringing farmers’ market food vouchers to the Wyalusing Senior Center on Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. A proof of income is needed.

Arielle Kneller and Mackenzie Martin would like to remind all girls that are just finishing grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 about the basketball camp they are holding Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28. It’s not too early to reserve a space in the church’s social hall to display your handmade paintings, jewelry and other artistic pieces.
