Harriett L. Sharer, 66, of PO Box 215, 22 Bee St., Laceyville, PA 18623 passed away Monday evening, June 25, 2012 at the Skilled Nursing Unit in Towanda, PA. Born on Sept. 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Harry O. (April 16, 1969) and Nettie M. McCormick Patton (April 14, 1993).
She was a 1963 graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School. After high school Harriett worked as a bookkeeper for many local businesses, including Whipple Bros. Lumber in Laceyville, R.G. Brown Refuse Removal in Laceyville, Bluhm’s Gas Sales in Laceyville, and Mr. Z’s in Tunkhannock.
She attended the Spring Hill United Methodist Church in her younger years. She loved her dogs: Cuddles, Coco, and Pumpkin. She also took great pleasure in knitting. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her children and husband, Robert L. Sharer whom she married on Dec. 28, 1963.
Surviving is her husband, Robert L. Sharer of Laceyville; her sons, Robert Harry Sharer of Laceyville and Christopher (Tina) Sharer of Laceyville; and her grandsons David Sharer of Laceyville, Braeden Sharer of Laceyville, Colby Sharer of Montrose, PA, and Michael Sharer of New Jersey. She is also survived by her extended family of brothers in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville with Rev. Richard Camp, a long-time family friend officiating.
Interment will follow at the Lacey St. Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, from 6 to 9 p.m.
