Mildred E. Decker, 90, formerly of Lacey St. and Second St., Laceyville, PA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, where she was a resident since February.
Born on June 1, 1922 in Lemon Twp., Wyoming Co., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily Rundle Carey.
Mildred was a member of the West Nicholson United Methodist Church. She loved to bake, cook and being surrounded by her family.
Survivors include her son, David Decker and wife, Bonnie of St. Augustine, FL; daughter Emily Bitler of Laceyville; brother, Carl and his wife, Shirley Carey of West Nicholson, and brother, Charles Carey of Falls; sisters, Shirley Wood of West Nicholson and Pearl Larue of Dimock; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Decker (1991); her son, Edwin Decker (Aug. 5, 2002); her son-inlaw, Edward Bitler (Nov. 23, 2000); a great-granddaughter, Brittney Devine and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Pastor Pat Newhart of Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Lacey St. Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home before the service on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.
