Frances Frystak Frances Frystak Mrs. Frances Mary Frystak, 77, of Terrytown, PA, passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Born in Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, PA, on Jan. 19, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward Watkins and Winifred Squires Watkins. She was raised by Frances Valentine Watkins and Edward Watkins, her grandparents. She graduated with honors from Nicholson High School, a member of the Class of 1953.

Frances began working in the A&P Store in Montrose where she met Stanley A. Frystak. They were married on April 24, 1954 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Stan predeceased her on Dec. 11, 2002.

They moved to Wyalusing where she worked for the former Acme Markets. She owned a Tropical Fish Store for several years. She and Stan purchased the Edgefield Court Motel in East Wyalusing in the 1960s, and they owned and operated the motel through two floods until they sold it in 1986.

Frances went to work for the Bradford County Area Agency on Aging, retiring after 12 years of service. She served as the Senior Center Manager at Park Place in Wyalusing for several years.

Mrs. Frystak was extremely active in the Wyalusing community her whole life. An avid bingo player, she not only played everywhere but she called bingo at the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department’s Carnival and the Wyoming County Fair Association. She was a life member of both the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department and the Wyalusing Unit #534 American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are three children, Winifred Mosier and partner, Thomas Brown of Terrytown, Thomas and Susan Frystak of Macedonia and Delta Ann Frystak, Terrytown; six grandchildren: Jason (Janet) Otis of Terrytown, Melinda Otis of Laceyville; Betsy Ball and Ed of Wyalusing, Valerie Mosier of Nanticoke, Leslie (Russell) Peterson of Wyalusing and Keegan (Ashley) Canfield of Terrytown; 13 greatg randchildren; three brothers, William (Judith) Wat-kins of Alva, FL, Edward (Janice) Watkins of Nicholson and Robert (Carol) Watkins of Smithboro, NY; brothers and sister in-law, Walter (Alice) Frystak of Montrose, Edward Frystak of Montrose and a special caregiver, Betty Haught of Terrytown.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Russell Watkins; two brothers, Jack Watkins of Vestal, NY and Lester Watkins of Nicholson; brothers-in-law, Chester (Janette) Frystak of Montrose and John Frystak of Dushore; sisters-in-law, Theresa (Bob) Decker of Vestal Center, NY and Charlotte Frystak of Montrose.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 119 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Dennis W. Fox, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, Terrytown, officiating. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Homer funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
