Mrs. Eleanor M. Bullock Kipar, 86, of 483 McGavin Rd., Meshoppen, PA passed away at her home on Jersey Hill, Auburn Twp., Susquehanna Co., on Wednesday evening, Sept. 19, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born in East Rush, PA on Feb. 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Jay Bullock, who passed away in 1958 and Elizabeth Kiefer Bullock, who passed away in 1983. All of her life, Eleanor lived in Susquehanna Co., where she graduated in 1943 from the Rush High School.
On June 10, 1944, Eleanor married Kurt Kipar of the Auburn Center area near Meshoppen. They were married for 61 years until his death on Sept. 17, 2005. For over 41 years, they owned and operated a dairy farm, Kipar Farms, in Jersey Hill, the same farm that is still in the Kipar family.
She was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Surviving are her sons and their wives, David and Susan Kipar and Paul and Sue Kipar, all of Meshoppen; her grandsons and their wives, Michael and Amy Kipar, Patrick and Arleta Kipar, Ryan and Megan Kipar and Alex Kipar and special friend, Nicole Nanni, as well as great-grandchildren, Rylee Jean Kipar, Kurt Patrick Kipar and Victoria Grace Kipar. Eleanor was looking forward to the arrival of twin great-grandbabies later this year. Also surviving are a sister, Merle Wesley of Tunkhannock, several nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Trudy Makowski of Scranton.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Bullock, who passed away on Oct. 3, 1987, and a nephew Stanley Bullock, who passed away on Jan. 1, 1976.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. from the Meshoppen United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Mott of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, on Monday, Sept. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m.
