Christopher Coleman, Jr.
Christopher C. Coleman, Jr., 86, of Rushville, PA passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born May 25, 1926 in Rushville, he was the son of the late Christopher C., Sr. and Cecelia (McManus) Coleman.
Mr. Coleman was a graduate of Rush High School. A life-long dairy farmer, he did custom fieldwork on local farms.
He enjoyed the outdoors, playing baseball in his earlier years, hunting and riding his four-wheeler.
Mr. Coleman was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, involved with the St Patrick’s Cemetery Association and formerly served on the local board of the former Agway Company.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve (Bomberski]); a son, Dennis Coleman of Rushville; a daughter and son-in-law, MaryAnn and Robert Haefner of Apalachin, NY; grandsons Joey and Mikey Haefner; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Hugh and Eleanor Coleman of Elizabethtown, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, a son, Bill Coleman, and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christopher Haefner, predeceased him.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 15 with a mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Friendsville.
Family and friends called from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Montrose.
