Born in Sayre on Aug. 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late A. Floyd and Nellie Dickinson Owen.
She was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School Class of 1965. Beverly worked at Donald Dean’s in Montrose, and most recently worked for Chenango Industries in Chenango, NY as a computer specialist.
She enjoyed auto racing especially traveling throughout the United States to places such as to the Charlotte, Michigan, Phoenix, and Pocono raceways to follow NASCAR with her husband, Gary. She also enjoyed the local races at the Shangri- La racetrack. Most importantly she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gary Sechrist of Silvara; a sister, Linda (Richard) Voda of Silvara; brothers, Laverne (Connie) Owen of Rome, James Owen of Canton, Harry Owen of Tunkhannock and Daryle “Woody” (Carol) Owen of Silvara, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Chaplain David Betts of Sacred Heart Hospice officiating. Interment was in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery in Silvara. Family and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
