Born in Transue on March 2, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jacob D. and Mabel Pierson Brotzman.
She was a graduate of Laceyville High School, Class of 1940. After high school, she married Floridon “Bump” Repsher on March 4, 1943 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage before his death on July 23, 1991.
Lorraine was a homemaker all of her life. She also babysat other families’ children for many years. She ran furniture clubs for Lee’s Furniture in Montrose. In addition, she was a correspondent for the Rocket- Courier, writing Laceyville News for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church as well as a member of the United Methodist Women of the church. She was a member of the Transue Friendship Club and a past member of the Laceyville Women’s Club. She worked as a majority inspector on the Laceyville Borough election board. She loved to attend her grandkids’ sporting events and enjoyed cooking, baking and canning. Although, her main interest was to be a great wife and mother.
Survivors include her children, Elaine Doty of Laceyville, Cheryl VanDeMark (Donald) of Laceyville, James Repsher (Cherie) of Spring Hill, and Terri Johnson (Jeffery) of Hollenback; her grandchildren, Aaron Doty (Alan Kinsman) of Laceyville, Jamie Doty of Laceyville, James Doty (Rachel) of Manheim, Stacey Schwartztrauber (Christopher) of Tunkhannock , Todd VanDeMark of Laceyville, Michael VanDe- Mark (Heather) of Dillsburg, Amy Soper (Jeremy) of Durell, Brooke Cogswell (Brian) of Wilmot, Dana Repsher of Spring Hill, Amber Mahoney of Melbourne, FL, Darren Mahoney (Vanessa Durland) of Wilmot, Stephanie Mahoney of Hollenback and Logan Johnson of Hollenback; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald VanDeMark on Jan. 19, 1994; a sister, Evelyn Boyer on Dec. 22, 2012, and sons-in-law, James Doty on July 27, 1989 and Michael Mahoney on Dec. 24, 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church, Rt. 6, Laceyville, with Rev. Dolly Tarreto of the Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Lacey St. Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday, Jan. 3, from noon until the time of the service.
