Breakfasts

Monthly Breakfast at the Herrickville Fire Hall, Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. All you can eat: pancakes, French toast, ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee, orange juice, real maple syrup. and sugar-free syrup. Adults, $7; children to 12 years, $3; preschool, free. Benefit: Herrick Twp. Vol. Fire Co. - Dept. 4.

Dances

Round and Square Dance will be held at the Wysox Fire Hall, Saturday, Jan. 19, 7 until 11 p.m. Music by Sara. Benefit Wysox Fire Company.

Dinners

The Hollenback United Methodist Church is pleased to announce the following dates for the free soup suppers for the next four months. These events start off with a Bible study at 4:30 and the supper at 5 p.m. All welcome. The dates are as follows: Feb. 13, March 13, April 10.

The WVHS Class of 1951 luncheon scheduled on Friday, Jan. 18 at noon at Mark’s Valley View Restaurant in Laceyville has been cancelled.

The Stevensville Community Club is hosting a meat loaf luncheon at the hall on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at noon. The staff of the Area Agency on Aging of Lawton is serving. There will be no charge. A program by the Area Agency on Aging will be held at 11 a.m. Call Luke at 570-746-3188 for details. Make reservations with Kelly Allen at 570-278-7667 or 800-634-3746. All reservations required by Monday, Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Menu consists of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, dilled carrots, whole wheat roll, cherry crisp and beverage.

Donations Needed

Wanted: Donated items that are in good condition (excluding clothing and stuffed animals) to be used as prizes for the dime social fundraiser being hosted by the parents of the Class of 2013. Donated items may be taken to WVHS by 3 p.m. until Feb. 1. Large items may be donated, but please contact first Lorrie Schools (lschools@wyalusingrams.com), Karen Potter (kpotter@wyalusingrams.com) or Kay Doerner (cdoerner- @wyalusingrams.com). Food items donations are also needed such as: Baked goods; Sloppy Joe sauce, hot dogs, hot dog and hamburger buns, paper products (plates, cups, napkins) plastic silverware, condiments, cans of soda, bottled water or even a cash donation to purchase these items. Baked goods can be dropped off during schools hours, Friday, Feb. 1 or after 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb.2. Volunteers also need to help with fundraiser.

Entertainment

The Wyalusing Library is hosting Bingo on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534, 89 Bowling Alley Road. All proceeds benefit the library.

Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life will have a Pro-Life Rally and Walk on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. beginning at the Bradford County Courthouse in Towanda. The group will then process to the Assembly of God Church, 20 Kingsbury Ave., Towanda for an ecumenical worship service. Light refreshments will be served.

Bradford/Sullivan Farm Bureau will be celebrating Food Check-Out from Jan. 21 - Feb. 17 2013. Food Check-Out will be observed through a charitable donation of food, paper products, office supplies, laundry products, cleaning products and money to the Ronald McDonald House located in Danville, Pa. A contribution to the event can be made by contacting Barbara Warburton at 570 924-3984 or Kathy Yoachim at 570 395-3462. The donated items will be presented to the House on Feb. 19. Look for drop off points in your local newspapers. It could be your church, place of work, school or grocery store.

The Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center presents “October Baby” at the Keystone Theater, Towanda on Sunday, Jan. 20, 4 p.m. Rated PG-13. $5 donation. A young woman on a quest to find her birth mother discovers that life can be so much more than what we have planned. All proceeds benefit the Endless Mts. Pregnancy Care Center. R3p

S.O.S. Al-Anon — Family Group will meet on Fridays at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hopkins Street, Sayre. Recovery House Meetings — AA Group of Towanda meets Mon.-Fri., noon; Mon., Thurs., Fri., Sat., 8 p.m., Sun., 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. NA meetings are held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Speaker meeting every first Sunday, 8 p.m. All meetings at 205 Main St., Towanda (please use rear, lower entrance).

Compassionate Friends — of the Endless Mountains will hold their meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Endless Health Community Center, Montrose. TCF is open to all families who have lost a child from any cause at any age. There are no membership dues or fees of any kind. Al-Anon meetings in Tunkhannock: Endless Serenity Al-Anon Family Group on Monday, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, 7 p.m., Saturday, noon. All meetings are held at the Tunkhannock UM Church Education Bldg., second floor.

MOPS — Mothers of Preschoolers meet every first and third Wed. of the month from 9 to 11 a.m., September through May. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church, 5 Court St., Towanda. Caregivers’ Support Group sponsored by the Law Office of Leslie Wizelman and the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging meets at noon the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Library at Memorial Hospital Personal Care Home in Towanda. Anyone taking care of a family member or loved one, be it at home or as a resident of a long term care facility welcome. The public is invited to Wyalusing Musical Society Program featuring the WVHS Early Morning Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. (Note earlier meeting time.) This annual event is a favorite of parents, friends and anyone else interested in a great presentation by this group, directed by Mrs. Carol Madill. Open House

An open house in celebration of the upcoming birthday of Roberta LaFrance’s 90th birthday will be held at the Braintrim Baptist Fellowship Center in Laceyville on Jan. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. No gifts please.

Socials

A Dime Social will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Wyalusing High School cafeteria. The drawing will begin at 7 p.m. A variety of items will be available: TV, blender, toaster, pictures/Home Interior, end tables, furniture and much, much more. Food and drinks will be available for sale. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Senior Class of 2013 All-night Party.
