Phyllis L. Schillinger, 81, of Tunkhannock, PA passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock, with her loving family by her side. Born July 6, 1931 in Sayre, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Arlie (Carrington) Mix. Her husband, Harold Otto Schillinger, Jr., predeceased her in 1993.
She was a graduate of the Waverly High School Class of 1949. After high school she married Harold Otto Schillinger, Jr. in 1959. They owned and operated Crystella Dairy Farm in Elk Lake from 1959 to 1985 when they bought the Edgefield Court Motel in Wyalusing. Phyllis owned it until 1995, two years after her husband, Harold passed away. She retired to her home in Lake Carey, and in later years became a resident of Tunkhannock.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Thomas Bidner of Baton Rouge, LA, Deborah and Steven Grimm of Branchville, NJ, Janet Schillinger of Lake Ariel, Lois and Brian Gregory of Tunkhannock; sons and daughters-inlaw, John and Jade Schillinger of Laceyville, Jerry and Debbie Hoffman of Vienna, WV; 16 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and John Rudzianski of Elk Lake, Christine Rolnick of Lakewood, NJ, Barbara Williams of Reading, MA, William and Nena Schillinger of New York, NY; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Donna Schillinger and Jean VanTassel and a granddaughter, Amanda J. Grimm.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
