Ellen McCabe Ellen McCabe Ellen Alberta Jenner McCabe, 90, of Harrisburg, PA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at the Community General Hospital in Harrisburg. She formerly lived in Rush, PA and Binghamton, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband, James F. McCabe, to whom she was married 48 years.

She was born on May 10, 1922 in Fairdale, the daughter of the late Harrison Edward Jenner and Pearl Belle Quick Jenner.

Ellen was a graduate of Rush High School, Class of 1940, where she was captain of her high school basketball team.

She was a member of the Rush United Methodist Church and Fairview Methodist Church in Binghamton, NY. She was an employee of Singer-Link in Binghamton and Kirkwood, NY for many years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph James and Barbara (Sherwood) McCabe of Red Lion; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Ellen and Joseph W. Lawrence of Lebanon Twp., NJ; her granddaughter, Shana Goodchild and her husband, Matthew of Easton; two great-grandchildren, Miles and Larson Goodchild of Easton; her sister and brother-inlaw, June and Paul Wilson of Meshoppen; two sisters-inlaw, Judith Jenner of Robbinsville, NJ and Norine Jenner of Hallstead, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eliza Overfield and Jean Wilson and two brothers Gary Jenner and Bill “Arden” Jenner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Transue Community Church. Interment will follow at the Montrose Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 2, from noon until the time of the service.
