Melvin Heeman, Jr.
Melvin “Superman” Heeman, Jr., 33, of Kirkwood, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. He is reunited with one of the joys of his life, his daughter, Carina, who predeceased him on Jan. 1, 2013.
He is survived by two daughters, Salena and Charlize (CeCe); his mother, Suzanne Lopez and Hector Lopez; his father, Melvin, Sr. and Jeanie Heeman; five sisters, Amy Gladney, Lena and Warren Folk, Angela Heeman, Rena Heeman and Alyda Heeman; maternal grandfather, Ronald Osborne, Sr., many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Louise Pederson and Allie and Gladys Heeman.
Melvin was a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1998. He enjoyed playing football, bodybuilding, wrestling with his nephews and fishing. He loved playing softball with his daughters and frequently dreamed he was playing ball with them. Melvin had an amazing voice and loved to sing country music. His daughters were the love of his life. He was an excellent father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made during Carina’s Benefit from 5 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the American Legion Post #80, Binghamton, NY.
