Walter Sarnosky, Jr.
Born in Meshoppen on May 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Walter and Edna Wandell Sarnosky. He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Before retiring from Penn’s Best as a truck driver, he worked for other companies driving truck.
Walter was a member of the American Legion Post 510 in Black Walnut and also a member of the Florida American Legion. He enjoyed fishing the Susquehanna River and Alligator Lake in Florida every chance he got.
He also enjoyed his seven grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. He always enjoyed getting pictures and letters from them.
He will be sadly missed by those who loved him very much, even his special little Chihuahua Tigger, that he spoiled.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Sarnosky and his mother, Edna Wandell Sarnosky.
Survivors include a son, Mike Sarnosky and his daughters, Marissa and Makayla Sarnosky of Laceyville; three daughters, Kelly (John) Caines and daughter Cheyanne Caines of Meshoppen, April (Rory) Shupp and children, Michael, Carter and Martie of Tunkhannock, Josey Sarnosky and son, Zane Naylor of Tunkhannock. Walter is also survived by two brothers, John Sarnosky of Woodbridge, VA and Gerald (Linda) Sarnosky of Troy.
As per Walter’s wishes, there will be a private memorial service at the convenience of his family.
