Lillian Ella Horton Gorton, 69, of Rummerfield, PA passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Memorial Hospital, Towanda. Born in Troy Township, PA on Oct. 4, 1943, she was the daughter of Raymond and Julia Carnwright Horton. She was formerly employed by Morris’ Market in Wyalusing, Sammy’s Restaurant in Wysox and the Wyalusing Personal Care Home. Lillian enjoyed working in her flower beds and caring for her roses, fishing, sitting on her deck watching others fishing on the river and working on her computer. She loved animals and making people laugh.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie Gorton; children, Donald Christian, John Welfel and wife, Sandy and Mary Gorton; stepchildren, Leslie Gorton, William Gorton and Teresa Fenton; brothers, Eugene and Daniel Horton; half-sisters, Florence and Cheryl Eldred and Sharon Ennis, and half brother, Jonathon Eldred; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Horton and half-brothers, Nathaniel and George Eldred and Richard Horton.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Standing Stone Cemetery, Standing Stone Twp.
