The Wyalusing Methodist Church will be holding an “Afternoon of Inspiration Concert” to benefit the Volunteers in Mission Team on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. There will be a silent auction and homemade refreshments. St. Peter’s in Tunkhannock February happenings: Quiet music and meditations Wednesdays during Lent. Soup supper will precede service at 6:30 and services begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 to March 27. The Hollenback United Methodist Church is pleased to announce the following dates for the free soup suppers. These events start off with a Bible study at 4:30 and the supper at 5 p.m. All welcome. The dates are as follows: March 13, April 10.

A Tour of Italy dinner will be held at the Mehoopany United Methodist Church on Feb. 16, serving 4 p.m. Tossed salad, garlic bread, chicken parmesan, lasagna, spaghetti, linguini, fettuccini, traditional red sauce, alfredo, clam sauce and spicy seafood vodka sauce. Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Dinner. Once again the Knights will be sponsoring three fish dinners this Lenten season. They will be on Friday, Feb. 22, March 8, March 22. Dinners include baked fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw, applesauce, dinner roll, homemade desserts and beverage. Served from 4 to 7 p.m. in St. Basil’s Hall, Dushore. Team Trivia night at the Wyalusing Fire Hall, Sat., Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. Tickets available for purchase at the door or in advance at the Rocket-Courier office, 196 State Street and the Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce office, Main Street. Recovery House Meetings — AA Group of Towanda meets Mon.-Fri., noon; Mon., Thurs., Fri., Sat., 8 p.m., Sun., 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. NA meetings are held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Speaker meeting every first Sunday, 8 p.m. All meetings at 205 Main St., Towanda (please use rear, lower entrance).

Compassionate Friends — of the Endless Mountains will hold their meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Endless Health Community Center, Montrose. TCF is open to all families who have lost a child from any cause at any age. There are no membership dues or fees of any kind. AARP Meetings #4423 are held at the Wysox EMS Building the second Tuesday of every month with the exception of special meetings combined with a luncheon. Executive meeting is 1:15 p.m. and regular meeting at 1:45. The March 12 meeting will be held at the Fortune Buffet in Athens at noon for luncheon. On May 14, the club will hold their Spring Banquet at Bishop’s Restaurant in Ulster at noon. You don’t need to be a member as guests are always welcome. American Legion Auxiliary Unit #534 — will meet on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Legion Post located on Route 6. All members are encouraged to attend. A small project for the veterans for Valentine’s Day will also be worked on. Dues are payable now.

Grief Support Group: Jan.- Dec. 2013. A bereavement support group meets monthly, the last Tuesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. This group is open to those who have experienced loss and is facilitated by Trudy Ventello, LSW, a social

worker with Memorial Hospital’s Hospice program. The meetings are located in the library in the lower level of Memorial Hospital in Towanda. Any questions, call 570-268-2233.

Twin Tier Antique Tractor and Machinery Association tractor pullers will meet on Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. at the Stoll Building in Wysox. General membership meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

The Wyalusing Senior Citizens will meet on Feb. 19 at the fire hall at 11:30 a.m. Come, bring a dish to share, your tableware and a friend. Yvonne Robinson will provide the entertainment. She is well-known to provide an enjoyable program.


The WVHS Class of 1998 will hold their 15th year class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Towanda Rod and Gun Club. Flyers will be mailed out to each classmate at a later date for reservations.

Sign-ups will be held at the Wyalusing Elem. School. Ages to register: (4-6 T-ball) baseball/softball (6-9 Rookie), (9-10 Minor), (11-12 Major), (13- 14-15 Teener Division).
