Julia (Judy) A. Allen Mosier, 70, of Sugar Run, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at her home with her loving family at her side.
Born on Aug. 18, 1942, in Sayre, she was the daughter of the late Lester R. and Carrie M. Vanderpool Allen. She attended the Canton High School. After school she met and married Norris Mosier of Sugar Run on Aug. 23, 1958, they celebrated their 54th anniversary last year.
After getting married she and Norris lived in Homets Ferry for a few years, and then moved to Sugar Run, where she raised her family and helped Norris run the farm for Henry Turrell. During this time she also worked in the cafeteria at the Laceyville Elementary School for 10 years.
Judy was a member of the Hollenback Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she spent every moment she could with them.
She was an avid Yankees fan, and did not appreciate interruptions while enjoying the ball game. Judy was a member of the Wyalusing Bowling Association, having attended many State Bowling tournaments. She enjoyed getting in the car and going for Sunday drives with Norris.
Surviving are her spouse, Norris, at home; sons and daughter-in-law, Norris Mosier, Jr., Wyalusing, Timothy Mosier and friend, Kristi Adams, Jenningsville, Dennis Mosier, Quicks Bend, Gary and Laurie Mosier, Quicks Bend; daughters and son-in-law, Carrie Sue and Duane Taylor, Herrickville; brother, Lester Wayne Allen, Laporte; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren and a niece Crystal Wiles of Sayre.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Dale L. Russell, presiding. Interment was in the Terrytown Cemetery.
Friends called at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
