He retired as a Greyhound driver after 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing and road trips and vacations with his wife.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Margaret; sons, Rick Hendershot (Bobbi) of Whitney Point, NY, Larry Hendershot of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Kathryn Wells of Fernandina Beach, FL; two granddaughters; five great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; his mother, Kathryn Douglas and seven siblings, Phyllis Rhoden (Eurie), Dale Wells (Vera), Donna Bechtel (Lee), Gary Douglas (Cindy), Kathy Pederson (Gary), Rodney Douglas (Tammy) and Sharon Hunsinger (Bill); many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held in St. Petersburg, FL at a later date.
