Born in Meshoppen on Aug. 31,1960, he was the son of the late Lewis O. and Mildred Carey Farr.
Most of his life, Michael was a farmer and a selfemployed stone stacker, working throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.
When he was not working, he enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved to hunt and fish. Being an outdoorsman, Michael was a member of the N.R.A.
Surviving are his sons, Michael L. Farr (Rochelle Caines) and Anthony J. Farr (Vickie Robinson), all of Meshoppen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristianna Farr, Kiarra Farr and Antuane Robinson, also all of Meshoppen. His long-time companion, Jacqueline Hall, with whom he lived and two brothers, Lloyd H. (Floryce) Farr of Laceyville and David L. (Sandra) Farr of Carbondale, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, with Rev. Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church and Rev. Tim Barnett of the New Hope Ministries, West Auburn, officiating. Interment was in the Forkston Cemetery. Family and friends called at the Sheldon Funeral Home from noon until the time of the service.
The family furnished their own flowers. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Michael J. Farr Benefit Fund, c/o P&G Credit Union, 15 Lane Hill Rd., Tunkhannock, PA 18657, a fund set up to help take care of final expenses.
