Born on Nov. 21, 1967, in Sayre, she was the daughter of the late George, Sr. (May 16, 1988) and Lucile M. McCreary Thomas (May 9, 2009).
Marie was a homemaker for her husband, Timothy P. Gowin. She also worked for Kelly Temporary Services at the Proctor & Gamble Plant in Mehoopany and NEPP Wire in Meshoppen.
She enjoyed doing artwork, especially drawing. She took great pleasure in playing the guitar and the keyboard. She also liked to fish and hunt. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, Tim.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; her step-brother, George Thomas and his wife, Mary of Laceyville; her step-sister, Judy Bauman and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Meshoppen; many nieces and nephews, and close friends, Kathy Carnevale of Meshoppen and the Sincavage family, also of Meshoppen. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepsister, Sharon Brostoski. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 6 at 4 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, with Rev. Thomas Mott of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends called at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
