Frank Coats, III
Frank L. “Budd” Coats, III, 59, of 157 Augusta Road, Wyalusing, PA, Pike Twp., passed away Thursday morning, May 23, 2013, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born May 6, 1954, in Sayre, he was the son of Frank L. Coats, Jr. and Augusta Mosier Coats. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed by the AJAX Foundry in Sayre and worked as a truck driver for Rynone Industries and Penn’s Best for many years. He was a member of AM Vets Post No. 261, Towanda. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Morris Coats, whom he married on Oct. 16, 1975, in Wysox; children, Amie Lynn Coats Moore and husband, Eugene of Pike Twp., Frank Louis Coats, IIII of Pike Twp., Gregory Scott Coats and wife, Doris Coats of Terry Twp.; brothers, Roger Coats and wife, JoAnn of San Diego, CA, Ronald Coats and wife, Francy of Meshoppen, David Coats and wife, Christine of Pike Twp., James Coats of Pike Twp., Wayne Coats of Pike Twp., Robert Coats and wife, Melissa of Laceyville; sisters, Rose Freeborn and husband, Michael of LeRaysville, Janet Dotson and husband, Ray of Rome and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Chapman.
The family received friends on Tuesday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. A graveside service followed at Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, with the Towanda American Legion Post No. 42 according full military honors.
