Born July 24, 1975, he was a son of Carl J. Remington and Paula Ann Lines Remington Wikoski. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the Class of 1993. He attended Vale Tech School in Blairsville, PA for two years specializing in transmissions. He married the former Joe Anne Deniece Ferranti of Stevensville on May 15, 1999.
After their marriage, Sam and Joe Anne began Remington Transmission in Terrytown. Sam also was a bus driver for the Wyalusing Area School District and also for Sharaton Charter Bus Lines of Wyalusing. Sam was elected and served as a Terry Township Supervisor.
He enjoyed gun collecting, NASCAR racing, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He had a loving disposition and would help anyone in distress.
Surviving are his spouse, Joe Anne at home; father, Carl J. Remington of Terrytown; mother, Paula Wikoski of Tunkhannock; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Remington of Tunkhannock; brother, Judson C. Remington of Wyalusing; sisters, Lisa (Robbie) Shoemaker of Laceyville, Brenda (Paul) Kneller of New Albany, Tina (Allan) Champluvier of Laceyville; sisters-in-law, Ann (Wayne) Vanderpool of Spring Lake, Suzann Dittfield of Sayre; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Delana Vanderpool, Leah Gillingham, Shawna Gillingham, Jonathan Shoemaker, Joshua Shoemaker, Arielle Kneller, Philip Kneller, Melody Kneller, Peter Champluvier, Joseph Champluvier and Emily Champluvier; pets, Tater, Bella, Gus, Diego and Stone; special friends, Joanne Potter and the late Steve Potter and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert E. Lines, Pauline M. Groover Lines and Paul Remington and mother-inlaw, Mildred Ferranti.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 3 at 1 p.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Richard Vieldhouse, pastor of the Orwell Bible Church, officiating.
Interment was in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends called at the Homer Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
