Mr. Daniel R. Walters, 68, well-known Wyalusing area farmer, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Endicott, NY, he was a son of the late Lester A. and Nancy Wheeler Walters. He married the former Lynette Kipp of Wyalusing on Dec. 13, 1965. He was a lifelong farmer, and he and his wife, Lynette farmed in the Wyalusing area for many years, raising their family at the Fred Shaffer and Calvin Shaffer farms where he was the happiest.
His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren, Trevor, Jenifer, Zachary, Hayley and Cheyenne.
Surviving are his spouse, Lynette Walters of Wyalusing; children, Laticia Saxon and partner Tom Rought of Meshoppen, Daniel K. “Bubba” Walters and fiancée, Tina Farley and Michael and Danielle Walters, both of Laceyville; brother, David Walters, of Towanda; sister, Helen Jackson of West Virginia; brother-in-law, Mike Milarta of Wyalusing; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Beverly Walters, Betty Milarta, Jean Stone and Robert Walters.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 18 at the Spring Hill Community Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. with dinner to follow.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing.
