Dale Henry VanDeMark, 88, of Albrightsville, PA, formerly of Sugar Run, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Brookmont Healthcare Center, Effort, PA.
Born in Sugar Run on June 30, 1925, he was a son of the late Dean Bickford VanDeMark and Euphemia Beatrice McCarroll VanDeMark. He graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School. Dale was married to the former Margaret Severs and she predeceased him on April 16, 2003. They lived in Howell, NJ for 25 years then retired to Albrightsville for the last 25 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Victoria Mariocca of Keyport, NJ, Margaret Louise Beaumont of Moorehead City, NC and Yvonne VanDeMark of Albrightsville; a son, Richard VanDeMark of White Haven; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dale H. VanDeMark, II in 1985 and a brother, Arden Dean VanDeMark of Orlando, FL in 1976.
A funeral service was held on Monday, July 29 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John P. Hassler, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Jim Thorpe, officiating. Friends and family called at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 11. Interment followed in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
