Hope Minyon

Mrs. Hope Minyon, 78, of Camptown passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Born in Queens, NY, on July 1, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Louis E. and Marguerite Zielke Milarta. She graduated from Morristown High School, a member of the Class of 1952. She married Richard Minyon of Willoughby, OH, on July 12, 1968, and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Hope was a member of Camptown United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women’s Club. She was an organist at the church, having played for many weddings and funerals over the years. She had a beautiful soprano voice, and she taught adult and children’s choir, as well as piano. Hope loved spending time with her family, friends and her special pets, Tuffy, Samanthan, Lucky and Peanut.

Surviving are her spouse, Richard J. at home; children, Michelle Hope Minyon of North Towanda; three brothers, William L. Milarta of Monroeton, Michael R. Milarta of Wyalusing and Louis Milarta of Monroeton; two sisters, Miss Susan C. Milarta of Midland Park, NJ and Miss Christine Milarta of Monroeton; sister-in-law, Dolores Munn of Dutton, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Daniel H. Milarta in 1969 and niece, Sabrina Milarta in 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at noon at the Camptown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Westbrook and the Rev. David Dewing officiating. Interment will be in Camptown Cemetery, Camptown.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
