Lewis J. Butterbaugh, Jr. Lewis J. Butterbaugh, Jr. Mr. Lewis J. “Jim” Butterbaugh, Jr., 59, of 191 Ball Park Rd., Laceyville, PA, passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, Aug. 17, 2013, in Altoona while visiting his mother and brother.

Born in Altoona on Dec. 2, 1953, he was the son of Janet Irene Hann Butterbaugh of Altoona and the late Lewis J. Butterbaugh, Sr., who passed away in 1985.

He was a graduate of the Altoona High School, Class of 1971. For many years, Jim was a forklift operator, until a disability forced his retirement.

He was a member of the Tri- Co. Sportsman’s Club in Silvara and the Hughesville Rod and Gun Club in Hughesville.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking and furniture making and cherished the time spent with his family and friends, especially his new grandson, Garrett.

Surviving besides his mother are his wife, the former Nancy Smith of Laceyville; his children, Brenda Louise Smiley of New Albany, Shelly Mae (Andrew) Dexter of New Albany and Joseph James Allen of Laceyville; two grandsons, Joseph Allen of Mehoopany and Garrett Dexter of New Albany; a brother, Richard (Maria) Butterbaugh of Altoona; sisters, Laurie (Jim) Mills of Altoona and Joanna (Favor) Thomas of Johnstown; a special cousin, William (Lisa) Hann of Altoona and several nieces and nephews.

Abiding with the wishes of Jim, there will be no services.

Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22, from noon until 3 p.m.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
