Michael was born June 15, 1957 in Columbus, OH, son of Helen McDonough Woodruff and the late Donald Gilbert Woodruff, who predeceased him on Feb. 17, 1973.
He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in Broken Arrow, OK, a member of the Class of 1975. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He served as an officer in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1979 to 1986 and later was a representative for Express Scripts.
Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford. He enjoyed hunting at his mother’s farm near Colley and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Woodruff at home; his brother, Patrick (Melissa) Woodruff of Boyertown; his sisters, Barbara Woodruff and Beverly Woodruff, both of Royersford; a special niece, Kelly Woodruff, and numerous cousins.
A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 26 at 9:30 a.m. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cummiskey, PA.
Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
