Reflections of Nature
Wildlife can be observed not only in the country and mountains but also in our cities and towns. Several years ago, while walking in downtown Towanda, I came upon a yellow-shafted flicker that was busy digging ants from the cracks in the sidewalk. The bird paid no attention to me as I watched it digging out the loose dirt and then lapping up the small ants, with its tongue.
