George L. Robinson, 88, of Evergreen, PA passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at the Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda.
Born and raised on his family’s farm in Evergreen, on June 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Harland and Maude Allen Robinson. He married the former Lucille Kobbe of Evergreen on March 4, 1950, having recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He graduated from the New Albany High School in the Class of 1943. After school he continued working on the family farm for the rest of his life. George was also a truck driver for over 25 years for the Browning Oil Company of New Albany.
George was a member of the Moxie Community Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved being outdoors and puttering around on the farm.
Surviving are his spouse, Lucille at home; two sons, David (Terry) Larrabee of Stafford, VA and Raymond (Ann) Robinson of Evergreen; daughter-in-law, Debra Robinson of Evergreen; eight grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Blaine, John, Jill, Jake, Heather and Tracie; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody, Luke, Ashlee, Logan, Taylor, Elle, Aaron, Mikie, Kaylee, Leela and Colton.
He was predeceased by a son, Leroy G. Robinson on July 3, 2012; a grandson, Richard Robinson in 1995; a brother, Harland (Bub) Robinson in 1986; a sister, Gertrude Kobbe in 2010, and his faithful Belgian horse, King.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with Pastor Mike MacWhinnie of the Moxie Community Church officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home in Wyalusing on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family will provide the flowers. They ask that memorial contributions be directed in George’s name to the Moxie Community Church, 391 Benjamin Road, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
