Born on Sept. 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Johanna Kinney in Johnson City, NY.
She worked at the Bradford County Manor as a nurses’ aid until her retirement in 2002. Prior to working at the Manor, she worked as a seamstress at many of the local dress factories.
Thelma was a former member of the Wyalusing American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting, sewing and bingo. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Goodenough of Terrytown; daughter, Phyllis K. Spencer and her husband, James of Wyalusing; grandchildren,
Melissa Showalter and her husband, Alan of Wyalusing and Lucas Spencer of Camptown; greatg randchildren, Mitchell and Matthew Spencer of New Albany; brother, Frank Kinney and his wife, Dusty of Campville, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Tom Kinney and his wife, Sally; Margaret Sullivan and Donny Kinney; her niece, Bonnie Kinney and her daughter-inlaw, Felicia Goodenough.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Rev. Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.
