What Makes a Verbal Agreement

What Makes a Verbal Agreement Legally Binding? Answer For a verbal agreement to be legally binding, it must have the following elements: offer and acceptance, consideration, permissible subject matter, legal age and mental ability to enter into a contract and finally one must have an intention to form a contract. A verbal agreement can be binding if it forms an oral contract in law. 2 Additional Answers Verbal agreements are in a lot of cases as legally binding as written contracts. Under law, the verbal agreement will be binding only if there was an accord on the services to be carried out and an agreement was reached on payment for this service. Verbal agreements are legally binding. Clients know they are supposed to give you what you both settled upon. Neither a collection organisation nor a judge will want you to produce a contract. However, it may be difficult to prove.

A verbal agreement is just as

A verbal agreement is just as good as an written agreement! When you have proof! My husband was witness and I asked the Salesperson if we would have anything taken out of our royalties . The salesman said NO you you have no deductions of any kind , I made him clarify that because we would NEVER have done this to our land!

They can take their so called

They can take their so called offer and stick it up their BUTTS! I will NOT sign that agreement and I want Chesapeake and all other gas companies OFF , under, over my land! THEY are faulting on the agreement that is NOT what they told us when we signed! GET OUT OF BRADFORD COUNTY! WE do not want you here until YOU abide by what YOU promised you pathetic lying cheating Gas Company! Darlene M Newton

We, too, are landowners.

We, too, are landowners. Chesapeake involved 3 other partners in paying our royalties. Chesapeake and 2 others are paying us the third one, Statoil, is full of excuses and lies. We have been going round with them since July 10. If nothing is received by 10/15 we will be seeing them in court. In addition another partner Anadarko as of 9/25 was 3 months behind in payments. Nothing is more important that a healthy economy and being energy independent but if the shabby treatment of those they owe royalties too is over the top. We signed on for a 12.5% royalty and are not receiving it and on top of that some of these partners are behind in their payments or not paying at all.
