Jaymie was born on Oct. 20, 1953 in Bellefonte, PA to Harold and Evelynne Doran, and moved to Lake Wales, FL, 37 years ago from Boalsburg, PA.
She was a graduate of State College, PA High School and a 1973 graduate of Webber College in Babson Park. She served as the financial secretary for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales, where her innate organizational abilities were always appreciated. She expressed her love of music through her enthusiastic participation in the Ridge Ringers Handbell Choir and Lake Wales Chorale. She was also a member of the Babson Park Woman’s Club, and a steadfast parishioner of the Babson Park Community Church. She was a devoted wife for 37 years and a beloved mother who lived her life with grace and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Malone; daughter, Amanda Maule and husband, Eric of Williamsburg, VA; her sister, Janiene Pigott and husband, Andrew of Boalsburg, and her brother, Rodger Doran of Easton, PA.
Jaymie’s mother grew up in Wyalusing and graduated from Wyalusing High School. Jaymie was the granddaughter of former Wyalusing residents Frank and Violet Miller (Thompson) and the niece of William and Virginia Keeler. Jaymie visited the Wyalusing area many times, especially during her youth when she enjoyed summers at her grandparents’ river cottage.
A memorial service was held in Lake Wales, FL on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. A visitation will be held in State College, at the Koch Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will also be held at Koch Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. with interment alongside her parents at Boalsburg Cemetery to follow.
