Elaine Joy Washer, 54, of 123 Bedford Road, Meshoppen, PA, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 12, 2013 after an illness at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Born on Feb. 13, 1959 in Tunkhannock, she was the daughter of the late Elisha John and Beverly Beebe Brotzman.
She enjoyed sewing and yard sales. She adored all 10 of her dogs. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Washer, whom she married on Sept. 15, 2000; her children, Rexford L. Gregory, Jr. of Montrose, Georgina Renee Gregory of Montrose, John Elisha Merritt and his fiancée, Norma Spindler of Tunkhannock, Melinda Sue Gunton of Mehoopany and Brian Alan Gunton of Meshoppen; grandchildren, Rexford L. Gregory, III of Allis Hollow, Cheyenne A. Gregory of Allis Hollow, Starr P. Nonnemacher of Montrose, Destiny H. Nonnemacher of Montrose, Dakota R. Herne of Montrose and Brandon M. Franklin of Mehoopany; her siblings Marvin Brotzman, Sr. and his wife, Elsie of Laceyville, Florence Murray of Laceyville and Charles Murray, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Meshoppen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Route 6, Meshoppen, with Rev. Gil Clark of the Meshoppen and Russell Hill United Methodist Churches. Interment will follow at Beaver Meadows Cemetery.
Family and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.
