Born on March 5, 1935 in Wyalusing, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Eva Wilson Thomas. She attended Wyalusing High School, graduating in the Class of 1953, the last class to graduate before consolidating. After school she met and married Bill Miller of Towanda, on Oct. 26, 1959. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year.
Gladys was a member of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano from 1953 until retiring in 2010. She was also a member of the Wyalusing Musical Society since the mid-1950s. She loved music, having played in numerous high school and adult summer musicals over the years. She loved animals, especially her cat Casper. She also was an avid collector of lighthouse figurines.
Surviving are her spouse, Bill at home; daughters, Elaine of Poughkeepsie, NY and Lisa of Wyalusing; sister-in-law, Alice Marie Branscombe of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Dale L. Russell presiding. Interment was in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends called from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
