Basket Raffles

A Day for Chris, Sunday, Nov. 24, 1 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post 154, Elk Lake Road, Dimock. Chris (Radwanski) Wilbur is fighting a battle with breast cancer. The next monthly breakfast at the Herrickville Fire Hall will be the Hunters’ Breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 7 to 11 a.m. Menu: pancakes, ham, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, real maple and sugar-free syrup, coffee and orange juice. $7.50 for adults; $3.50 children up to 12 and preschool, free. Veterans’ Day Breakfast Buffet. Vets eat free. Sunday, Nov. 10 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. in St. Basil’s Hall, Dushore. Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Sunday, Nov. 17 from noon until 3:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 42, Towanda.

Holiday Vendor Blender, Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Parish House, Main St., LeRaysville. Various vendors will have items on display for all your shopping needs. Guaranteed to find something for everyone on your list. Lunch will also be available. Eat in or take it home.


Second Sunday Vesper Service on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Montrose. Simple supper served afterward in the Parish House.

Free soup suppers are back at Hollenback United Methodist Church. They will be held on Nov. 13 and Dec. 11. The suppers will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with a Bible Study from 4:30 until 5. All welcome.

Wyalusing’s Relay for Life will hold their annual kick off event on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Wyalusing fire hall. A spaghetti dinner will be served, 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.; Adults-$5, school age - $3; Preschool are free. The community is welcome to attend.

Pancake Supper at the South Auburn Grange on Nov. 9, serving starts at 4 p.m.

Ham Dinner with homemade pies, Thursday, Nov. 7 at St. John’s Chapel in Wilmot starting at 4:30 p.m. until 6:30. Adults, $8; children, ages four to 12, $3 and preschool, free. Take-outs available.

Chicken Biscuit Dinner in the bingo hall at the Black Walnut American Legion Post 510, Sunday, Nov. 10, 1-6 p.m. Adults $8; children $5. A basket raffle and silent auction will be held. Proceeds will benefit WVHS student Brooke Force’s 2014 student ambassador trip to Europe. The legion hall is located at 338 Old Route 6, Laceyville.

The WVHS Class of 1951 will meet for lunch on Friday, Nov. 15 at noon at Bishop’s Restaurant in Ulster.

Meatloaf Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 23, 4 to 6 p.m. at VFW 6824, 1468 Haigh’s Pond Road. Cost: $8, children 12 and under, $5. Benefits Auxiliary Relief Fund.

Wysox Sewing Society hold their monthly dinner noon, Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Ferguson Hall of the Wysox Presbyterian Church, Rt. 187N, Wysox. Baked ham will be featured with mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw, assorted vegetables, gelatin salads and a delicious variety of homemade pies. Take-outs upon request, call ahead. Compassionate Friends — of the Endless Mountains will hold their meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Endless Health Community Center, Montrose. Grief Support Group: Jan.- Dec. 2013. A bereavement support group meets monthly, the last Tuesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. This group is open to those who have experienced loss and is facilitated by Trudy Ventello, LSW, a social worker with Memorial Hospital’s Hospice program.
