Red Cross Sends Support to Philippines
With sustained winds of over 145 miles per hour and gusts of up to 170 miles per hour, Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) is recognized as the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year. The storm affected 9.5 million people across 36 provinces. Meanwhile, 1,400 evacuation centers are housing more than 330,000 people left homeless by the storm.
