Roxanna Marie Wilson Maxson, 66, of 52 Robin Circle, Wysox, PA, Standing Stone Twp., passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 8, 2013 at the Dar- Way Eldercare Center in Elkland Twp., PA. Born Jan. 23, 1947 in Eagles Mere, she was a graduate of Sullivan County High School. She was formerly employed by Shop-Vac in Williamsport and by Memorial Hospital in Towanda. Roxanna was a member of the American Red Cross and the Women of the Moose in Canton.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dawn Stump; grandsons, Damien Claude Stump and Thomas Robert Stump; stepchildren, Walter D. Maxson, Jr., David and William Maxson, Jeri and John Mitchell; several stepgrandchildren; brother, Steve (Linda) Wilson; sisters, Irene and Esther; foster sisters, Doris Hartman and Gail Powell; foster brothers, George and Ralph Dymond and her companion, Martin Borst. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter David Maxson on Aug. 20, 1995; foster parents, George and Marguerite Thompson and brothers, James and Lloyd Wilson.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with Rev. James Hollister, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Towanda, officiating. Interment will be private in Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
