Monthly Breakfast at the Herrickville Fire Hall, Sunday, Dec. 29, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. All you can eat: pancakes, French toast, ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee, orange juice, real maple syrup and sugar-free syrup. Adults, $7; children to 12 years, $3; preschool, free. Benefit: Herrick Twp. Vol. Fire Co. - Dept. 4.

Christmas Events

Holiday Pie Sale. The Serious Hits travel volleyball teams, based out of Wyalusing, will be holding a Holiday Pie Sale on Saturday, Dec. 21 starting at 8 a.m. at the PS Bank, Rt. 6, Wyalusing and 9 a.m. at Miller’s Pharmacy until all sold. Your support will be greatly appreciated and any purchase or donation will help offset the cost of the program’s expenses. R51p

The Rushville Church will be holding its annual Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. Everyone welcome.

New Year’s dinner-dance at the Wysox Fire Hall on Dec. 31 from 6 until 12:30. Music by Sara. For more information, please call 570-265-3479. Leave a number if no answer and your call will be returned.

The 13th annual free Community Christmas dinner will be served on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at noon at the Montrose Square Community Room, sponsored by Endless Mountains Health Systems physicians, employees, volunteers of EMHS and the community. Everyone is invited – no reservations are necessary.

A Live Nativity - presented by the Rome Presbyterian, Rome United Methodist and North Orwell Union Churches - will be presented on Saturday, Dec. 21, 5 to 7 p.m. The live Nativity is set up on the Rome Fire Co. grounds. Donations will be accepted and will benefit Grace Connection.

Hometown Holiday Party, New Year’s Eve, sponsored by the Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce (GWCC) and held at 20 Main St., Wyalusing. Doors open at 6:30 with a social time including assorted appetizers. Then a full course dinner (chicken mozzarella/roast beef) is served by “Catering the Wright Way” followed by a great variety of desserts. Then a fun-filled evening of music, dancing and laughter led by the fabulous DJ “All About Entertainment.” The evening wraps up shortly after the ball drops. Tickets are $35/person. It is BYOB and several mixers and coffee are provide. Tickets available at the Chamber office (570-746-4922) until Dec. 20 unless sold out earlier.

Christmas Eve-Eve service at the Hollenback United Methodist Church on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

The Senior, Junior and Brass choirs of the Braintrim Baptist Church will be presenting their Christmas program, “Joy Has Dawned” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. Please join them for an evening of music celebrating our Saviors’s birth.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Russell Hill U.M. Church, Rt. 6, Tunkhannock, on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 9 p.m. Everyone invited. Call 570-833- 2983 for more information.

The combined choirs of the Wysox Presbyterian Church and the Towanda Lutheran Church will perform the Cantata “Bethlehem Morning” on Sunday, December 22 during the 11 a.m. service at the Wysox Presbyterian Church. A breakfast brunch will follow in Ferguson Hall sponsored by the Sunday School/Youth Group. Everyone is invited.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service – the Wysox Presbyterian Churchwill be having their annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. This special service led by Pastor Jira Albers will include special music, readings, communion by intinction and lighting of the candles. Everyone is welcome to attend this meaningful service celebrating the Lord’s birth.

Recovery House Meetings — AA Group of Towanda meets Mon.-Fri., noon; Mon., Thurs., Fri., Sat., 8 p.m., Sun., 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. NA meetings are held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Speaker meeting every first Sunday, 8 p.m. All meetings at 205 Main St., Towanda (please use rear, lower entrance).

Compassionate Friends — of the Endless Mountains will hold their meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Endless Health Community Center, Montrose. TCF is open to all families who have lost a child from any cause at any age. There are no membership dues or fees of any kind. MOPS — Mothers of Preschoolers meet every first and third Wed. of the month from 9 to 11 a.m., September through May. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church, 5 Court St., Towanda. Memorial Hospital’s monthly bereavement support group schedule for 2014 will continue to meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m., located in the library on the lower level of Memorial Hospital, Towanda. The group follows the book by James Miller, “What Will Help Me?” and other authors’ writings related to grief and loss. The support group is open to those who have experienced loss and is facilitated by Trudy Ventello, LSW, a social worker with Memorial Hospital’s Hospice program. The Towanda Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry (T.A.C.O.) will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thurs., Jan. 2 for the Christmas/ New Year’s holiday. Pantry will reopen Friday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. T.A.C.O. serves the Towanda, Wyalusing and Northeast Bradford school districts and is open from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
