Andrew J. Zosh, 84, of Montrose, PA, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Regional Hospital in Scranton after an extended illness. He was born on Aug. 24, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Andrew G. and Susan Homza. His wife of 42 years, Margaret A. Zosh, survives.
Also surviving are his six children and their spouses, Linda Smith, Alan Zosh, Tina and Loren Welch, Angela and William Smith, Tim Gilhool and Ann Gilhool; seven grandchildren, Vanessa McDonald, Melinda Zosh, Loren D. Welch, Julie Klein, Caleb Smith, Kristen Smith and Jeffrey Smith; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom and John Zosh; sister, Madge O’Leary and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Isabelle Halliday and two brothers, Albert and Steve Zosh.
Andy served in the U.S. Army from Korea through Vietnam; he flew helicopters while in the service. He even re-upped and went to Desert Storm at 60 years of age. After his service, he worked for several security firms outside of this area until he was 80 years old.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home with Rev. Robert C. Ford of Elisha’s Home Ministry officiating. Interment was in the Rush Center Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
