Howard I. Hendrickson, 78, of Friendsville, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at his home. Born Sept. 5, 1935 in Birchardville, he was the son of the late Russell K. and Edith [Gardner] Hendrickson.
His wife, Barbara Hendrickson, predeceased him in 2004.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, raising goats and woodworking. Howard cherished family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served as Friendsville Mayor for several years.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and David Newhart of Friendsville, Cindy and Michael Flynn, Sr. of Montrose; son and daughter-inlaw, Michael D., Sr. and Penny Hendrickson of Friendsville; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Seeley of Friendsville, Freida and Salvatore Maglio of Scranton, Sylvia Randall of Montrose; brothers, Donald and Becki Hendrickson of Newport News, VA, Ronald and Tammy Hendrickson of Friendsville; aunt, Cora Gardner of Ulster and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela Labbe; son, Jerry Hendrickson; great-granddaughter,
Emily Nicole Newhart; brother, Kenneth Hendrickson; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Seeley and Donald Randall.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose. Friends and family may call two hours prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
